Florence Carlson, 82, of Clarissa, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Centra Care Health System in Long Prairie. Funeral services for Florence were held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Melissa Ehrhardt officiating. Interment was held at Zion Cemetery, Clarissa.
Florence was born August 7, 1930 in Valentine, Nebraska, to Jacob & Anna (Goersch) Eisenbraun. She graduated from Browerville High School in 1948. Florence worked at St. Paul Fire and Marine until her marriage to Don in 1950. They farmed in Clarissa until Don's death in 2005.
Florence loved being a farm wife. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening. Family was a very important in Florence's life. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Florence was a great wife, mother and a positive friend to many. She was known for her cheerfulness.
Florence is survived by her children: Vic (Peggy) Carlson of Browerville, Carmen (Joe) Howell of Kindred; grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Tjaden of Hawley, Jerene (Jason) Redfield of Moorhead, Katie (Jason) Baskin of Maple Grove, Paige Jerlow (Mike Barbero) of Boise, Idaho; great grandchildren: Parker, Emily, Mallorie, Karisa and Ava.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents; husband Don, brother Ed, granddaughter Leah and son-in- law Greg Jerlow.
