George Allen Hall, 85, former barber shop manager, buried

Funeral services were held today for George Allen Hall, 85, of 1130 14th Street North, former manager of the Thomas Jefferson Hotel barber shop. He died yesterday after suffering a heart attack while working in his garden.

Services were held at Brown-Service Norwood Chapel with Dr. Ira Mullins officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Until his retirement approximately 15 years ago, Mr. Hall was a manager of the hotel barber shop for about 10 years. Prior to that time, he had been employed as a real estate salesman.

He was born in Elbert County, Georgia, and came to Birmingham to make his home about 40 years ago. A member of the Methodist church, his hobbies were gardening and keeping informed on politics.

Surviving are his wife, Hattie Ellis Hall; two sons, John L. Hall, Birmingham, and Coleman Hall, Bowman, Georgia; two daughters, Mrs. Cloe Thornton and Mrs. H.L. Mewborne, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
