Emanuel Geisel was born in Daetzingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. He emigrated to NY in March 1882 with his wife Sophie Guenther (b Pforzheim, Germany) and several of their oldest children. In total, they had 12 children: Sophia, Caroline, Emily, Elwire, Otto, Herman, Francis, Herman Emanuel, Clara, William, Charles, Julius.
