Rose Hill Rites For Ex-stockman Set for Sunday.
Funeral services for Kent J. Johnson, 79, retired stockman and farmer of Rose Hill, Kan., who died Thursday at Wesley Hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Church of Christ.
Officiating at the service will be Louis Tandy and Calvin Fields, ministers of the church.
Burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery near Rose Hill. Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, Kan., will direct.
Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 2, 1878, at Rose Hill. He married the former Minnie Maude Silknitter Nov. 1, 1899, in Wichita.
He was a member of Church of Christ. For 30 years he was manager of the Rose Hill baseball team.
Survivors besides his wife include a daughter, Mrs. Vera Dennett, Augusta; two sons, Velmo Johnson, Augusta, and Verne Johnson, Rose Hill; a brother, Gilbert Johnson, 607 S. Main; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Goldsberry, 3505 St. Louis, Mrs. Myrtle Swindell, 625 W. Central, Mrs. Grace Brewer, 1959 S. Market, Mrs. Mary Lehr, Augusta, and Mrs. Gertrude Jones, Rose Hill; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
