Nicholas Lee McFarland, "Nick", age 20, passed away on September 20, 2012. Nick was born on September 16, 1992 to Larry and Anita McFarland. He attended Corpus Christi College Preparatory School and Richard Milburn Academy. Nick was employed by Sam Kane Beef Processors. He enjoyed outdoor sports, especially hunting, fishing and all wilderness activities. He loved being with his friends on those trips. Nick was a former Boy Scout and was a member of Central Christian Church and Youth Group.

Nick will always be remembered for his love of laughter, cheering others when they were down and always making others laugh. Nick was a loving son.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie McFarland; grandmother Pauline Cardenas; great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Pofirio Naranjo; great-grandmother Mrs. Maxima Mendez and Aunt Dorothy Crisp.

Nick is survived by his parents, Larry and Anita McFarland of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandfather Ruben G. Cardenas of McAllen, Texas; two brothers, James and Joseph McFarland; 4 nieces and nephews; 3 aunts, Shirley Harvey (John), Bennie Tyler and Marinela Fuentes (Efrain); uncle, Ruben Cardenas; numerous cousins and relatives from McAllen, San Antonio, Austin, Yorktown and Victoria, Texas. Nick had a special girlfriend, Ms. Jazmin Villareal who he loved dearly.
Special consideration and thanks to his Central Christian Church members, Doctors Regional ER, and all his friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church on Weber Road on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 with Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Christian Church for the use of the Corpus Christi Food Bank Ministry. We would be consoled that those in need would be provided.
