Born in Valletta, Malta, in 1873, Father Galea was educated at the local Lyceum, with the Jesuits of Gozo, and at Valletta University, where he received his degree in divinity in 1898. He had been ordained to the priesthood in the previous year.
Moving to England, he served as curate in the Westminster diocese, at Wood Green, Somerstown, and at Wapping. From 1903 to 1904, he served as assistant at St. Mary's, Gibraltar. He then joined the Diocese of Southwark, serving at Vauxhall and Wandsworth, and a short period in 1904, chaplain to the Daughters of MC Cross at Cheam.
Requiem Mass was held on Thursday, February 5, at West Norwood, followed by interment at Streatham.
