JOHN WALKER PATERSON - There passed away at the Albany District Hospital on Thursday last (16 April 1942) Mr. John Walker Patterson, at the ripe old age of 78 years. Deceased was a very old identity of Torbay, where the hospitality and activities of his old Torbay home, "Glen Gilgie," were legion. The late gentleman was one of the most enterprising characters in the district, he at various times having established tomato sauce factory, bacon curing, sawmilling, quarrying and stone crushing. His wife and son had predeceased him. The remains were interred in the Methodist portion of the Albany cemetery on Friday last, the Rev. H. Pearson officiating at the graveside.
