"Funeral services for Genevieve Mitchell, 68, of Elgin will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin with Rev. Kenneth Potts officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Wednesday at Huffman’s Brooks Chapel in Elgin and after 7 p.m. at the church where a scripture service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug and Dean Schueth, Paul Eischeid, Terry and Tim Price and LaVern Mitchell.
Genevieve Ann Mitchell, daughter of Albert and Catherine Sehi Schueth, was born Jan. 29, 1921, at Cedar Rapids, and died May 30, 1989, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.
She attended rural schools in the St. John’s community southwest of Clearwater.
On April 26, 1949, she married Wayne A. Mitchell in St. John’s Catholic Church, rural Clearwater. The couple farmed at Albion until 1959 and at Clearwater until 1966 when they moved to Elgin.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and its altar society.
Preceding her in death were he parents; one son, Harold Joseph; and two brothers, Donald and Harold Schueth.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two sons, Randy of Elgin and James of Albion; one daughter Beverly Fajman of Elgin; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Schueth of Norfolk; and two sisters, Alberta Price of Norfolk and Mary Ann Hoefer of Elgin."
