Mr. Smith, 85, died Saturday,
Jan. 29, 2005, at Hobbs Health
Care Center. He was born Oct.
9, 1919, in Rising Star, Texas.
He married Cloma Smith on
Sept. 3, 1940, in Brownwood,
Texas.
Mr. Smith had lived in
Hobbs., N.M., since 1961. He
retired in 1986 after working
for Climax Chemical for 25
years. He enjoyed farming. He
was a member of First Baptist
Church and the Masonic
Lodge.
Survivors include his wife,
Cloma Smith of Hobbs, N.M.; a
daughter, Nadine Garrett of
Hobbs, N.M.; two grandchildren,
Mart Wampler of
Snyder, Texas, and Wende
Nolen of Seminole, Texas; and
two great-grandchildren, Sam
Wampler of Snyder, Texas,
and Zoee Nolen of Seminole,
Texas.
