Lloyd Harry Ewart, 60, of New Freeport, died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 1965, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill for two weeks.
Mr. Ewart, a son of the late Harry and Belle Martin Ewart, was born April 25, 1905, in Center Township, near Rogersville, where he spent his early life. He had operated a grocery store at New Freeport for 30 years and also had a large farm on which he raised livestock.
He was a member of the New Freeport Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and trustee, was a member and treasurer of the New Freeport Volunteer Fire Company, had served as a school director for several years, and was a Republican committeeman. He had also been active in Boy Scout work.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi Ewart, whom he married Oct. 7, 1933; one sister, Muriel, wife of Rolland Cowell, of Waynesburg, R. D. 4, and one brother, Martin Ewart, of Sycamore R. D. 1.
A sister Olive is deceased.
