Wood River, IL--Albert F. Brave, 61, of 67 Harnet St., here, was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at 6:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Alton. He died of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Brave was born on Oct. 8, 1899 in Edwardsville where he resided until three years ago when he moved to Wood River. He retired from the Standard Oil Company in 1959.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Schneider Brave, to whom he was married in 1921; a daughter Mrs. Verdell Hanner, Rosewood Heights; a son, Lloys Brave, Wood River; two brothers William Brave of Edwardsville and Edward Brave, Wood River; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Schaeffer and Mrs. William Bardelmeier, both of Edwardsville and Mrs. Edward Schoenbaum, Wood River and five grandchildren. A brother, Louis and a sister, Mrs. H.C. Bartels preceded him in death.
The body may be viewed at the Marks Mortuary, Wood River, after 2 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday when it will be taken to St. John's United Church of Christ, Wood River to lie in state until the services at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
