James David Connell, Sr. was born in Georgia on Jan 17, 1943. He went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He is preceded in Death by his son James D. Connell, Jr., his parents R.G. and Willie L. Connell, Father and Mother in Law Earl W. and J. Lorene Hill, Step-mother Martha Connell, brothers R. Earl Connell and Lee E. Connell brothers-in law Jackie Young and Gene Guyton
Survivors are his devoted wife of almost 48 years Brenda Sue Hill Connell, sons Jeffery L. Connell and Becca Martin, Robert L. Connell and wife Stephanie, Mark S. Connell and wife Tonya, daughter Angela C. Reynolds and husband Mark.
Grandchildren are Nicholas R. Connell and wife Laci, Courtney Connell, Bryan Connell, Ashley Meyer, Joshua Ridenour and wife Tami, Kaitlyn Parker, Corbin R. Connell, Aaron B. Connell, Matthew J. Connell, Seth C. Reynolds and Zack S. Connell.
Great-Grandchildren; Niko Meyers, Alexa Meyers, Lynziee Connell, Bradley Ridenour, Sydnie Ridenour, Reed Ridenour and Jarrett Ridenour

Jim was devoted to his faith, his family and especially his Grandkids who called in Papaw Jim. He was in the Army National Guard, for many years he was a member of and active on the Board for the Medford Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to hunt, fish play softball, read Louis L'Amour books and play on the floor with his Grandbabies.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral Service: 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.
Interment: Friends and Family will meet on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession to Foust Cemetery in Lake City for a 10:00 a.m. interment.
