Graveside services for John
T. Hudson Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.,
will be held at a later date at
Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Cremation will take place.
Arrangements are under the
direction of Chapel of Hope
Funeral Home.
Mr. Hudson, 87, died
Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at
Lea Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 3, 1917, in
Plains, Texas.
He was married to Margaret
Matthews for 65 years.
Mr. Hudson served in the
U.S. Army during World War
II in the 71st Infantry
Division, ETO Theater,
Europe. He retired from working
in the oilfield. He was a
lifetime member of the VFW
and an active member of the
American Legion. John’s
grandfather was the first sheriff
in Yoakum County and his
father was the first constable
in Seagraves, Texas.
Survivors include his wife,
Margaret Hudson of the
home; three sons, Max
Hudson, Jerald Hudson and
Gene Hudson, all of Hobbs,
N.M.; 10 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hudson was preceded in
death by a son, Steve Hudson.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the American
Legion or a charity of one’s
choice.
