Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at
Prairie Haven Cemetery in
Hobbs, N.M., with Rev. Jerry
Payne officiating.

She died
Jan. 21,
2005, in
Brownfield.
She was
born June 1, 1915, in
Crawford, Texas. She graduated
from Crawford High School
in 1933. She married Marcus
D. Strickland Nov. 28, 1935 in
Valley Mills, Texas. He preceded
her in death July 6, 1988.
They moved to Brownfield in
1963. She was a communications
service adviser with
GTE. She was a member of
Eastern Star and Brownfield
First Baptist Church.
Two brothers and two sisters
also preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter,
Yvonne Ousley of Brownfield;
two granddaughters, Paula
Hournbuckle and husband
Curtis, Shawna Dawkins and
husband Charles, all of Hobbs;
five great-grandchildren,
Nikki Lopez and husband
Jaime, Marcus and Kailea
Hornbuckle and Preston
Dawkins; three great-greatgrandchildren,
Melanie, Joy
and Destiny Lopez; and a niece,
Mozelle Johnson of Hewlitt,
Texas.
