An Animal Known to Thousands Fell,
Broke Its Back and Had to
Be Shot.

Humane Officer Greenman was called to Eighteenth and Campbell streets yesterday to shoot a dun pony, which had fallen attempting to dislodge its rider and fractured its spine. The rider was not injured. The pony was the property of Spangler, the transfer man, and was used for several years by a collector for the Midland National bank, becoming a familiar sight dashing along the streets.
