Josephine Huston Camp was one of four children born to John W. Huston and his wife Alice Williamson. Josephine worked as a sales person for a bookseller.

Josephine was united in marriage in 1875 to Calvin F. Camp, one of the children born to Calvin B. and Rebecca Camp. Josephine and Calvin were blessed with one son during their short marriage, George Rex Camp.

Josephine was left a widow when Calvin passed away at the young age of 30. Josephine was left to care for her son , as well as both her aunts, Elizabeth and Susanna, when her father passed away in 1893.

Josephine never remarried.
