Nettie S. Bean Gasaway Crawshaw
LAST RITES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. CRAWSHAW
A resident of Forsyth since 1896, Mrs. Nettie S. Crawshaw died here Wednesday of last week. She was 96 years of age and had been a resident of the nursing home a number of years, before entering the Rosebud Community Hospital.
Mrs. Crawshaw was born Oct 22, 1868, in Leesville, Tex., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bean. The family lived in Texas, the Indian Territory of Oklahoma and in Colorado and in 1884 they moved to the Rosebud Creek area.
She was married March 10, 1886, to Harry Gasaway in Forsyth, and the couple moved to Chestnut in 1891. They returned to Forsyth in 1896, where she had lived since Mr. Gasaway died here.
She was married to Byron S. Crawshaw Dec. 25, 1901.
She was past matron of the Bethlehem Chapter, of the Order of Eastern Star and a life member.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fay Trunk of Bozeman; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The Rev. Norman Austin was in charge of funeral services Saturday at Beals Chapel. John Schiffer, as soloist, sang The Old Rugged Cross and Beyond the Sunset.
Pallbearers were Ted Bean, Glenn Blakesley, Ralph Clark, Guy Gray, Frank Winzeler and Don McCausland. Burial was in the Forsyth Cemetery.
