Our beloved Mother was born on Christmas Day, the 25th of December 1929, in Houston, Texas. She was one of 14 children born to Parker A. Talley and A. Margaret Talley. She grew up in West University and was a graduate of Incarnate Word Catholic grade school high school. She was married at St. Vincent's Catholic Church to Andrew R. Davis Jr. on the 19th of August 1950.
Elise was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew R. Davis, Jr.; her parents, Parker A. Talley and Margaret Elise (nee Tschumy) Talley; her mother and father-in-law, Genevieve and Andrew R. Davis, Sr.; sister and brother-in-law, Genevieve and R.J. "Bob" Lingle; grandson, Andrew R. "Drew" Davis, IV; her sisters, Patsy Weber, Delores Nelson, Camille Nicholson; brothers, Alton Talley and Arthur Talley.
She is survived by her three children and their families; Andrew R. "Dusty" Davis III, wife Cindy and son, Kenny; Robert C. Davis and son, Dustin Davis; Dana Davis Blystone, her husband Jerry Blystone and their children, Davis and Paige Elise.
Her surviving Talley siblings include Barbara Pieri, Noel Holmberg, Melvin Talley, Jared Talley, Stella Talley, Susan Pennington, Katie Foster, and Laurel Freeman. Other survivors include numerous cousins and many nieces and nephews and their wonderful extended families. Special friends, Valdean and Jack Read and many other friends.
She was a member and founding parishioner of Saint Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church in Houston. She was a devout Christian and practiced her Catholic faith since childhood. Above all else, she was a generous, caring and compassionate person who is at peace with our Lord today. She loved, and was loved by all, especially her family.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Thursday, the 27th of June, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A Mass of Christian burial is to be offered at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 28th of June, at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer Road in Houston, where Fr. Scott Blick is to celebrate.
The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
