DEATH CLAIMS HELEN GEER IN HER 90TH YEAR
Mrs. Helen Geer, 89, passed away Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Deam, 1045 McAllister Avenue.
Mrs. Geer was born in Lyons, N.Y., April 15, 1848. With her late husband, who died in 1927, she came to Hillsdale County in 1869 and in 1891 they moved to Benton Harbor where Mrs. Geer was long an active member of the First Congregational Church.
Mrs. Geer leaves five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Deam and Mrs. Mabel Arford of this city; Mrs. Alice Hemingway of St. Mary’s, Idaho; Mrs. Grace Sutherland of Seattle and Mrs. Marian Myers of Flint. There are eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Dean mortuary Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock, the Rev. H.A. Blanning officiating. Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Elmer Ball of Albion; Sam Daub of Elkhart; A.R. Arford, Frank Arford and Dr. M.D. Tonnelier of Benton Harbor and Frank Becker of Eau Claire.
