Wylie Bowman BENTON HARBOR — Wylie Bowman, 73, of Benton Harbor departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, after battling a short illness. Wylie was born March 2, 1933, in Wetumpka, Ala.
Wylie eventually left the South to pursue his future in Benton Harbor.He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 42 years, Evelyn Bowman of Benton Harbor;
two daughters, Shelia Carter of Grand Rapids and Adrienne (Tony) Terrell of Benton Harbor;
three sons, Joel Bowman and Wylie (Paula) Bowman, both of Grand Rapids, Earl (Charlene) Bowman of Benton Harbor;
three sisters, Lillie Isom of Benton Harbor, Ida Mae Campbell of Wetumpka, Bessie (Johnny) Isom of Flint, Mich.;
two brothers, Albert Walters and Frank Bowman, both of Benton Harbor;
sisters-in-law, Turesia Bowman and Octavia Bowman, both of Benton Harbor;
10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bosie and Ida Bowman; son, Shawn Bowman; daughter, Vanessa Bowman; a sister, Annie James; four brothers, Bob Bowman, Ray Bowman, Bosie Bowman and Stoke Bowman.
Services will be held at Friday, Oct. 20, at Word Up Ministry in Benton Harbor, 11 a.m. visitation, 12 noon service. Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor.
