p.m.

and 8 a.m.-to

Mr. Harris, 88, died Saturday,
July 2, 2005, at his home in
Hobbs. He was born July 9,
1916, in Girard, Ill.
He married Thelma Harmon
on March 14, 1937, in Toledo,
Ohio. She preceded him in
death on Nov. 29, 2002.
Mr. Harris served as a sergeant
in the U.S. Army from
1943-1945. Byrl was a retired
grocer before moving to Hobbs,
N.M., in 1974. He invested in
several oilfield-related businesses
and was considered
quite the entrepreneur. He was
a avid golfer and love playing
pool;. Byrl never met a
stranger and loved people.
He was a member of First
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother,
Bill Harris of Marietta, Ga.; a
sister, Mary Lou Talley and
husband Sterling of Midland,
Texas; a brother-in-law, Vernon
Briggs of Hudson, Mich..; a
brother-in-law and sister-inlaw,
Dean and Joyce Cummins
of Hudson, Mich.; numerous
nieces and nephews; special
friends Ken and Peggy Dean of
Odessa, Texas; Rene and Steve
Abshier, of Hobbs, Lena
Rodriguez of Hobbs, and Jack
Walstad of Hobbs; and his goddaughter,
Sara Billingsley of
Norman, Okla.
