age 23, of 233 East Oklahoma Avenue, was killed in action Dec. 16, 1944 in Luxembourg, Germany.

Member Oakwood Baptist Church, Attended Christenberry Junior High School.

Survivors: mother, Mrs. Maudie V. Rose; brothers, William P. and Frank E. Rose; sister, Mrs. Minnie L. White; three nephews; two nieces, all of Knoxville.

Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, Oakwood Baptist Church, Rev. L.C. Roberts officiating. American Legion Post No. 2 will have charge of military services at the grave. Interment Bookwalter Cemetery.

Pall bearers: Wilbur Vandergriff, H.C. Wells, Lawrence Cross, Artis Davis, Sam Blair, Wayman Hutchins.

The body arrives over L&N, 1:35 p.m. Thursday and will be taken to the home. Rose in charge.
