In 1926 he operated a restaurant in the Dulac building, coming to Bellflower, California in 1942 where he worked for Douglas Aircraft until his retirement in 1957. He was a 68-year member of the American Legion and was a World War I navy Veteran.
He was married to Helen Ritchie on October 19, 1920 at Denver, Colorado. She preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were a stepson, Frank Ritchie, and a stepdaughter, Frances Peggy Hays.
