This monument, located on the ground where the July 19, 1864 Battle of Peachtree Creek was fought, commemorates the Confederate soldiers who fought in the engagement. The entire battlefield was not preserved after the war, and is today an affluent residential area. (bio by: Russ Dodge)

For my ancestor Sgt Wilbur F. Starr of the 29th Alabama who lost his young life at the Battle of Peachtree Creek on July 20, 1864. You will not be forgotten. Rest in peace.

for my 3rd great grandfather, James S Bunyard, 3rd Corporal, 6th Mississippi Infantry, Co D; who was wounded in this battle and succumbed to his wounds at the Ocmulgee Hospital on July 29 1864. Rest in Peace! I will see you on the other side...
