Elaine Carla Chaney, 50, of Taneytown died Monday, July 1, 2013 at her home. Born April 3, 1963 in Olney, she was the daughter of Doris Bridges Remines of Mt. Airy and the late Earl Mike Remines. She was the wife of Eddie E. E. Chaney, her husband of almost 27 years.
Elaine was a 1981 graduate of Linganore High School. She enjoyed swimming, spending time at the beach, and making flower arrangements and wreaths. She especially enjoyed her time babysitting her niece, Addisyn. Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are daughter, Alexandra L. Chaney of Taneytown; step-daughter, Jennifer A. Jackson of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Christopher, William and Holden Jackson; sister, Amanda Ensor of Hagerstown; niece, Addisyn Ensor; and mother- and father-in-law, Eva and Eddie Chaney of Mt. Airy. She was predeceased by her son, Brandon Chaney in 2008; and brother, Mike Remines II in 2011.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown on Wednesday, July 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
