Ruth F. Schmidt, 70, 1810 W. 1st St, Merrill, died on Tuesday, September 25, 1984 at Holy Cross Hospital in Merrill.

She was born on November 30, 1913 in Milwaukee to the late John E. and Martha (Kunde) Zimmerman. She married Arnold Kraetsch on June 29, 1935 in Milwaukee. Mr. Kraetsch died on March 1, 1960. On June 13, 1953, she married Marvin O. Schmidt. Mr. Schmidt died on July 5, 1976.

She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, she formerly owned and operated Marv and Ruth's Bar at 102 N. Foster St, and was a member of the Lincoln County Tavern League Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlyn Kraetsch and Mrs. Marvis Burrows, and three sons, Richard Kraetsch, Wayne Kraetsch, and Paul Schmidt, all of Merrill; a brother Richard B. Zimmerman, Keshena; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 28, 1984 at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. Rev. Dale Kuck and Rev. James Martin officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.

The Taylor Funeral Home of Merrill was in charge of the arrangements.
