Lucy was the eighth of eleven children born to Dennis Walker and Sarah Ellen (York) Kivette. She married Jasper H. 'Earl' Reno and they were the parents of one daughter: Janice.

Lucy F. Reno, 93, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at a local health-care center.

Mrs. Reno was born Aug. 7, 1912, in Randolph County, N.C., to Dennis and Sarah (York) Kivette. She had lived in St. Joseph since 1956.

Mrs. Reno worked as a sales clerk for Townsend & Wall for 20 years, retiring in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Reno, in 1993; and all siblings of five sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Reno is survived by her daughter, Janice Reno, St. Joseph; three grandsons, Brett Stiles and Devon Roberts, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Dorn Roberts, Portland, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Excel Care, especially Elizabeth and Dora, who assisted Mrs. Reno and made it possible for her to remain in her home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of time or money to the Heart of America chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, Kan., 66208.
