Mrs. Mary E. Long, wife of Milton Long, of East Lincoln street, died at the Waynesburg hospital, Friday, afternoon, October 20, aged 69 years, following an illness of several months due to a complication of diseases. Mrs. Long was a daughter of Robert and Elizabeth McClelland, deceased, and was born near Khedive. On September 11, 1872, she was united in marriage with Milton Long. They resided in Cumberland township until about fifteen years ago when they removed to Waynesburg, where they had since made their home. In her youth Mrs. Long became a member of the Muddy Creek Cumberland Presbyterian church and after coming to Waynesburg she united with the Methodist Protestant church. She was always a faithful attendant at all church services and had not missed attending Sunday school for eight years, until her recent illness. She was deeply interested in missionary and temperance work and was active in the Ladies' Aid society of the church. Beside her husband one daughter, Miss Mabel Long, at home, survives. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Hamill, of Pittsburgh, assisted by the Rev. F. C. Viele. Interment in Oakmont cemetery.
