Milton Long, a veteran of the civil war and highly respected citizen, died at his home on East Lincoln street, Friday evening, April 11, aged 86 years, after an illness of several months from a complication of diseases. Mr. Long was a son of Jeremiah and Lucretia Long, deceased, and was born in Cumberland township, and spent the greater part of his life on his farm on Muddy creek, and was a successful farmer and stock raiser. About seventeen years ago he removed with his family to Waynesburg where they had since resided. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Mrs. Long died nearly two years ago. One daughter, Miss Mabel Long, at home, survives. Mr. Long was the last of a family of six children. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. James E. Wilson, assisted by Rev. F. C. Viele. Interment in Oakmont cemetery. Services conducted by the G.A.R. Post.
