Elsie Warren Smith Mendel Mitchell, 90, of Moulton, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at NHC Healthcare, in Moulton.

Elsie was born September 28, 1922, in Lawrence County, to the late Howard Pope Warren and Mattie Lee McKelvey Warren.

She graduated as Salutatorian of the Lawrence County High School Class of 1940. She loyally served as Office Manager of the Tallman Company of Decatur from 1955-1974. A longstanding member of the Moulton Church of Christ, she was a classy southern lady with impeccable taste and an exquisite sense of style.

Elsie was preceded in death by her dearly beloved only child, Bobby Howard Smith; three husbands, Corbin Alton Smith, Alvin Mendel, and Eddie Mitchell; two sisters, Eloise Warren Munz and Bettye Lou Warren Johnson.

She is survived by her only grandchild, Shannon Leigh (Smith) Adcock, of Burlington, NC; one sister, Marjorie Warren Shelton, of Hendersonville, TN; beloved step-daughters, Jane McCullough (Tommy Wayne), of Moulton, Betty Sims, of Hartselle, Carol Hamilton (Kenneth), of Decatur, Lita Bilotti (Richard) of Redvale, CO, and Margaret Reynolds, of Port Lucie, FL; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Moulton Memory Gardens on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. Ricky McWhorter will preside.

Serving as pallbearers, Billy Warren Shelton, Tim Johnson, Robert Hester, Michael McCullough, Mitch Sims, Neal Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Patick Warren Muntz, Jerry Muntz, Roger Shelton, Michael Crisler, Billy Ray Jackson, Jason Jackson, and Curtis Cole.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society.
