Rev. Julius Field was the son of Ichabod and Anna (French) Field He was the husband of Minerva Susannah (Kellogg) Field. He was a minister in the New York East Conference and Rock River Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He served in the ministry for 63 years.

Julius Field was pastor of this church August 1845 to August 1846. He was born at North Madison, Conn., April 2, 1799; was educated in the common schools, and entered the ministry in 1821 before his marriage. He was stationed at New York City, Glens Falls, and Fort Auer, New York. In 1839 he was sent as a Sunday School Missionary to Wisconsin, and built the first frame church in the territory at Sylvania (Kellogg's Corners). He was Presiding Elder of Milwaukee District, Rock River Conference and then stationed at Racine where he built the first Methodist church on College Ave., between Fifth and Sixth. In 1846 he returned to New York East Conference, and was active there for many years before being superannuated in 1871.
