Betty passed away in Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Columbus, Ohio To Albert, and Audrey (Swank) Briggs. She moved to Homosassa Springs, Fl in 1996, from Milton, FL where she had lived on the Blackwater River with her husband A.V. Bill Wood. She was a retired long distance truck driver who loved boating, and playing bingo. She was a long time active member of VFW Post 8189 Dumas & Hartson, and two time President of MCOA-VFW. On a personal note, Betty was my step-mother, and was always good to me. I know the 10 years or so that she and my Dad were together was the happiest time of my Dad's life. I'm sorry she has passed, but happy their spirits are together again.
