Services with Masonic rites for Charles Russell Shaw Sr., 68, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. Grover Johnson and Ed Griggs officiated with entombment in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Chapel Hill Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

Mr. Shaw died Friday, May 11. Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late Johnnie Russell and Rena Brown Shaw. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and a deacon. He was retired from Sonoco Products Co. with 47 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge #173 and the WOW, and was a constable.

Surviving are his wife, Emmie Winburn Shaw of Hartsville; son, Charles Russell Shaw Jr.; daughter, Dr. Patricia Anne Shaw, both of Hartsville; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Alton Campbell of Camden; half-brother, James Russell Shaw of Hartsville; and granddaughter, Cari Renee Shaw, also of Hartsville.
