A 16-year veteran volunteer lieutenant fireman, a member of the Elks, and one of the organizers of Kingman’s original Jaycees chapter.

The Kingman Explosion, also known as the Doxol Disaster or Kingman BLEVE, was a catastrophic boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion (BLEVE) that occurred on July 5, 1973 in Kingman, Arizona.

Marvin Eugene Mast, the manager of Doxol Propane and who was on top of the tanker, died from burns from the initial fire that erupted.

Firefighters Richard Lee Williams, William L. Casson, Roger Allen Hubka, M.B. "Jimmy" Cox, Lieut. Joseph Chambers, Art Stringer, Christopher Grey Sanders, John Campbell, Frank Stewart "Butch" Henry, Donald Webb and Alan Hansen died in service with civilian Margin Eugene Mast when a propane tanker exploded at the Doxol Propane plant in the 2600 block of Andy Devine Avenue.

The explosion killed a total of 12 people and injured 112 people. In addition to the eleven city firefighters and one railroad worker killed in the disaster, one state trooper (firefighter), Alan H. Hansen, was also killed in the explosion.
