The Oklahoman, June 8, 1970: Travis Mitchell Kerr, oil man and thoroughbred race horse owner, died late Saturday night in Los Angeles at age 67, it was learned Sunday. Kerr, who helped build an empire in oil and uranium, was pursuing his favorite sport and business, horse racing, when he was stricken by a cerebral hemorrhage. He was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs Nancy Magana, Bartlesville.

Services will be at 4 pm Tuesday at Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper Funeral Home with entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum. He was a brother of late Senator Robert S. Kerr and owner of one of the richest horses of all times, Round Table, who won over $1 million before he was put in stud...(description of the horse omitted)

Kerr was a retired officer and member of the board of directors of the Kerr-McGee Corp. He was born in Ada and had lived in Oklahoma City for 20 years. He played football for Ada High School and East Central State College. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; 425 NW 39; his daughter, Nancy; two brothers, A. M. Kerr and B. B. Kerr; and a sister, Mrs Mildred K. Anderson.
