Anona was born in Olaton, KY on August 9, 1926, a daughter of the late Beulah (Wilson) and Oscar Lee Lively. She was the widow of Marcus Furman "M. F." Daugherty and was first married to the late Grover Clinton "G. C." Spencer.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Spencer Pace and James Carroll Pace, Jr. of Inman, SC, Carolyn Spencer Raines-Harbin and Kenneth Wayne Harbin of Surfside Beach, SC, Terry Clinton Spencer and Joan Fowler Spencer of Inman and a very special pet Benji. Other survivors include step-children, Judy Daugherty Vaughn (Joe), Elaine Daugherty McAbee (Everette), grandchildren, Lisa Raines West (Chris), Richard Carroll Pace (Shannon), Angela Pace Morris (Dwayne), Lori Raines Condrey (Stacey), great-grandchildren, Taylor Colin West, Taylor Leigh Morris, Carson McKenzey Condrey, Logan Deane Morris, Aaron Hammond West, Bailey Grace Condrey, Avery Allen Morris, Kelsey Parker Pace, Brooklyn Claire Pace, Sarah Jaden West, sisters, Beatrice Lively Stone of Danville, KY, Jeanette Lively Hester of Owensboro, KY, Billie June Lively Cappelli of Acworth, GA, sister-in-laws, Delores Thompson Lively of Owensboro, KY and Mildred Nalley Lively of Lakeland, FL.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Madeline Smith Lively, brothers, James Curtis Lively, Carl David Lively, Daniel Ray Lively and sister, Margie Lively Crabtree.
She retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing and Campobello-Gramling School in Spartanburg District 1. She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
The family received friends Friday, July 26, 2013 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Holston Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at Holston Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2013 with Dr. Reggie Parker and Rev Donnan Lawson officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
Anona loved her garden and flowers as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were very special to her. She loved the staff and fellow residents at Bayberry Retirement Inn in Greer, where she was a resident for four short months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions could be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church ,311 Holston Creek Church Rd, Inman, SC 29349.
