Danish Royalty. She married Prince Christian, who later king Christian VIII of Denmark, in 1806. In 1808 she gave birth to a son, the later King Frederik VII of Denmark. The marriage was dissolved in 1810 due to her affair with the composer Édouard Dupuy. She was exiled to Horsens in Jutland. In 1829 she moved to Rome where she lived the rest of her life. She was buried in the small cemetery Camposanto Teutonico within the walls of the Vatican City.
