Magdaline was the fifth of six daughters born to her parents, collectively known as "The Beery Girls" who were all born and raised in Sidney, Ohio. Her sisters all preceded her in death, Gaylie Dolores, who passed away as an infant, Wanda Beery Finkenbine, Grace Beery Baumgardner, Violet Beery Hales and Lois Pauline (Doe) Beery Walters.
Magdaline graduated from Sidney High School in June 1933 and married Martin (Mike) L. Allread of Troy on March 17, 1934. They were married 62 years until his death in 1995. Upon their marriage, Magdaline and Mike lived in Troy until moving to St. Paris in 1945.
Magdaline moved to Los Angeles with her family in 1948, taking a retail position at J.J. Newberrys, where she worked for 33 years until her retirement in 1980.
She was very active in retirement, baking goodies for friends and family. In later years, family was the main focus of her life.
Magdaline's son, Donald Allread, preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include son, Joseph Allread and his wife Roseann; daughter Susan Mecate; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
