Maudie Mae "Williams"
Jackson was born Oct. 23, 1905,
to Jim and Ida Williams in
Tatum, Okla. Maudie attended
school and did farm work with
her parents. In 1923, she met
and married Clarence Jackson.
From this union, nine children
were born; Dorothy, Joe,
Clarence II, Millard "Dean,”
Bobbye, Winnie, Myrl,
Clayburn and Ruth. In 1947
they moved to Hobbs, N.M.
Maudie was a very devoted wife
and mother. She had love for
people and showed great hospitality.
Maudie accepted Christ
at age 40 and dedicated her
whole life doing God's will.
Maudie was very influential in
bringing her whole family to
Christ. She had a passion for
teaching God's word and bringing
souls to Christ. She attended
Scharbauer Street Church of
Christ and touched the hearts
of many. Maudie Jackson left
us at the age of 99 1/2 years of
age.
She is survived by her daughter,
Winnie Dean and husband
Wayburn of Hobbs; and sons
Clarence Jackson Jr. and wife
Thomaseen of Albuquerque
and Claburne Jackson and wife
Velma of Phoenix, Ariz. She is
also survived by four sisters,
Ardest Allen of Lawton, Okla.,
Catherine Jackson and Mary
Lee Bryant both of Duncan,
Okla., and Juanita Munns of
Lawton, Okla.; 53 grandchildren;
112 great-grandchildren;
and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, Jim and Ida
Williams; her husband,
Clarence Jackson in 1963; children
Joe Jackson, Millard
"Dean" Jackson, Dorothy
Shells, Bobbye Dilworth, Myrl
Carroll and Ruth Mackey; sisters
Beauty Steveson, LaNae
Turner and Juliette Williams;
