Ivan Shaffer Brown, 62, of 707 Ruth, died in his home at 5 p.m. Wednesday following a lengthy illness. He was an employe of the Lima Post Office.

Born in Monroeville, Ind., Aug. 13, 1906, he was the son of Joseph and Lydia Shaffer Brown.

Mr. Brown was a past master of Fort Amanda Lodge 706 F and AM, a member of Chapter 49 RAM, Lima Council 26, Shawnee Commandry 14, Lima Shrine, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, El Karan Grotto and Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Freewald Brown; a sister, Mrs. Ferol DeFrain of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Guy Brown of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and stepmother, Mrs. Orah Brown of Monroeville, Ind.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Chiles and Sons - Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight. Masonic memorial services will be 8 p.m. Friday.
