It is our painful duty to record the death of Capt. H.G.D. Brown, which sad event occurred at his residence in the western part of this county June 30th, 1877. The deceased was the youngest brother of Hon. A.G. Brown of Terry, and of Hon. Edwin R. Brown of Atchinson, Kansas. His funeral was preached in the Methodist church in this place on Sunday evening, by Rev. J.M. Weems, which was largely attended by the citizens of the town and county; after which the remains were interred in the Hazlehurst Cemetery, by the side of his beloved wife. Capt. Brown was universally esteemed by the people of his native (Copiah) county.
