Born February 17, 1935 in Freedom, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Syvilla (Eisenbrown) Jolley. Marcella was retired from Bell Telephone as an operator and St. Francis Cranberry, where she worked in the admissions department. She was a member of the Unionville Methodist Church, where she was very active within the church. Marcella was the secretary and treasurer for the Freedom Alumni Reunions, loved to shop, cook, garden, and clean. She enjoyed her vacations at Myrtle Beach with 'The Girls' and participated in a card club for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Bernard Jolley and brothers-in-law Wilford Mayles and Robert Barnes.
Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, William C. Barnes Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Karen Barnes Jr., New Brighton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bob Frank, Freedom; six grandchildren, Sandra Wakeley, Joseph, Kristin, and Jacob Barnes, Merissa (Sean) O'Reilly and Emily Frank; a great-granddaughter, Audrey Wakeley; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Leona Mayles, New Sewickley and Mary (Bob) Gahles, Chippewa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth Jolley, Brookville, Pa.; Claudette Jolley, Coudersport, Pa.; Alice Barnes, Freedom; Jack (Jan) Barnes, TX; Janet (Bob) Filo, Freedom and Carole Kirshler, Bethel Park and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. A service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Myers officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
