Mrs. Monroe was a member of the Narragansett Indian Church and served on its board. She was an elder in the Narragansett Indian Tribe and a mem-ber of the Silver Cloud Board. She was a descendant of King Ninigret.
She leaves two sons, Raymond Monroe of Peace Dale and Larry Monroe of Providence; a daughter, Norma Fry of Peace Dale; four sisters, Elsie Champlin and Mildred Everett, both of Peace Dale, Olive Whitford of Ashaway and Abbie Stokes in Florida; three brothers, William Johnson and Harry Johnson, both of Peace Dale, and Everett Johnson of Richmond; 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
