Meyer C. Molinsky immigrated from Russia to the United States as a child in 1910.

He was an accomplished physician and received his education from Long Island College of Medicine. He practiced medicine in Brooklyn, Queens, and had work for Beth Israel Hospital in New York.

His first wife was Beatrice Grushman. They had two daughters Barbara Waxler (1931-2013) and Joan Alexandra Rosenberg (aka Joan Rivers). Beatrice died in 1975. He was survived by his wife Ann.

Dr. Molinsky, age 83, died of a heart failure at his home in Westchester Co., New York.
