Son of Daniel Pratt 1731 – 1819 and Lydia Cobb 1730 – 1801, from Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Pratts are descended from Mayflower Pilgrims Francis Cooke and Stephen Hopkins. William Cobb Pratt and his father, Daniel, came to Cossayuna about 1790-1. They had the "farm next east of the village on Bunker Hill Road".
