Ned Sutherland

KINGSPORT - Ned Sutherland, 64, passed away Sunday (Dec. 11, 2005) at his residence.

Mr. Sutherland was born on March 9, 1941 in Kingsport to the late Thurman "Buck" and Hester Eleanor Vaughn Sutherland.

Mr. Sutherland was a retired drill press operator from Bristol Compressors, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of the Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances "Frankie" L. Collins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church, or any other times at the home of Mr. Sutherland.

Services will be held today at 8 p.m. in the church with the Pastor David Foster officiating.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the East Lawn Memorial Park with military honors to be rendered by the American Legion Post #3/265.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of the VA Hospital, Indian Path Hospital and the Med Center Hospice Care.

East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
