Charlotte Fair
Charlotte D. Fair, of Johnson City passed away Sunday December 23, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Fair was born in 1921 to the late Samuel and Macy Dempsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Fair, brother Ivan Dempsey and wife Vivian, brother-in law Mack Gouge, and grandson Charles S. Fair.
She is survived by one daughter Mary Ann Fair, one son Steve Fair and wife Shirley; three grandchildren, Andrea Reed and husband Jerry of Knoxville, Sarah Melvin and husband Kevin of Pratt,Kansas, and Katy Fair of Johnson City; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Adeline, Olivia, and Charlotte Reed of Knoxville and Henry Melvin of Pratt, KS; one sister Martha Gouge of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte retired from H & R Block after almost 40 years of service. She was a Senior enrolled agent. She was loved by her many clients. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was kind, generous, funny, and a lady in every sense of the word. Charlotte loved to read, garden, cook, and watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Charlotte was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and daily lived her life to serve and honor Him.
The family is most appreciative of the staff at Johnson City Medical Center for their outstanding care and support, especially Drs. Alba Bissi and Joshe, and the nurses of the ICU.
The funeral service for Mrs. Charlotte Fair will be conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Minister Jack Smith officiating. The family visitation will precede from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 28 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Jerry Dempsey, Kevin Melvin, Jessie Rainer, Jerry Reed, Don Gouge, and Sam Nelson. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.appfh.net.
