Annabelle Ellen Doran, 87, of West Burlington, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2001, at Danville Care Center in Danville.

Born October 18, 1914, in Canaan Township in Henry County, she was the daughter of George W. and Mary Olive Berry Miller. She married Silas Martin Deen in 1934. He died in 1966. She then married Frank "Shorty" Doran in 1971. He died in 1973.

Mrs. Doran was a production worker for Central Soya for numerous years.

She retired in 1974. She also was housekeeper for Fred Holstein for many years.

She attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in West Burlington.

She loved dancing, traveling, cooking and bingo playing at the Eagles Club, Burlington Gym and Steamboat Center. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include six grandchildren, Gary Deen of West Burlington, Vickie Flake of Wapello, Ronald M. Deen of West Burlington, Duane Deen of West Burlington, Joni Boling of West Burlington and Allan Deen of Burlington; one daughter-in-law, Janice Hagerla of West Burlington; one sister, Dorothy E. Miller of Danville; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ronald Deen, one great-grandson, Jade Klein, and two brothers.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.

The funeral for Mrs. Doran will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, with the Reverend Dean R. Moberg officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for St. Paul United Church of Christ in West Burlington.
