Mary married Walter Macaulay, birth registered in St John, New Brunswick on Oct 26, 1887. He was the son of James and Ella (Smith) Macaulay and had come to the US at age 18. His parents were born in New Brunswick and his father was a grocer. His ancestry was from Scotland.
Mary and Walter married Oct 8, 1919 in St. John NB and he and Mary came to Medford Massachusetts on their honeymoon. Walter and Mary resided in Medford and had a son Ralph R. Macaulay born in 1924. Walter worked for many years for the SS Pierce canning company. Prior to that he worked as a delivery person for a retail grocery chain.
Walter Macaulay died 1954 in Medford Massachusetts being stricken by a heart attack while riding the MTA trolley back from Boston where he had suffered an earlier attack a few days prior.
She was buried with her husband in Puritan Lawn Cemetery in West Peabody Massachusetts.
Note: I received an edit request to change the spelling to match the cemetery stone which I have done. Walter's father spelled the name MacAuley and his children alternated between Macauley and Macaulay. Most of the records do show Walter used the Macaulay spelling. My grandmother Macaulay also alternated the spelling of here name. Walter had siblings Ada (Enid A.) Percival, Beatrie (Etta B.) , Roy, Ralph, Winni (Roma), and Mildred Macaulay/Macauley. He was the second born and Ada was the eldest of the children.
