Ethan Allen Duke died at age 74 at a hospital in American Fork, Utah County, Utah, USA following a surgical procedure to repair a Hernia.

Personally, Ethan had at least nine other siblings and his family moved to Wallsburg, Wasatch County, Utah when he was 15 years old. Duke was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), commonly referred to as Mormons. During his life this religious tradition became central in his life. He served in a great many positions of service and leadership in this denomination. In 1880 he married Martha Jane Parcell. Together they raised at least eleven children. In his later years he lived for two years in McGill, Nevada and settled for most of the later years of his life in Orem, Utah County, Utah where he lived with his family. His wife Martha Jane preceded him in death by six years dying in 1926, and one child preceded him in death.

Professionally, Duke was a Farmer for over 35 years in Wallsburg and worked in Wallsburg as Constable.

Socially, Ethan spent 20 years fostering public interest in drama and theater. He was well known in the dramatic circles of his community, staging numerous dramatic productions.
